THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading Australian provider of technology services, engaged in supporting a significant Defence program. This requires a Technical Writer who can also assist with Project Coordination and Schedule alignment within a PMO environment.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong writing and Project Support capabilities as well as the ability to work with stakeholders across planning and delivery functions.

THE ROLE

In this position, you'll play a key role in supporting project documentation in alignment with the One Defence Capability Lifecycle Framework, as well as development of SAFe Agile artefacts as DDG evolves delivery methodologies. This will involve establishing a small Project Management Office; and then writing technical documents for a Defence Intelligence program. You'll also be involved in supporting the team with general project management activities, as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance (ESSENTIAL)

PRINCE 2 or similar Project Management training / certification

Demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer in complex project or Defence environments

Ability to develop and maintain high-quality documentation (plans, procedures, reports, registers)

Familiarity with PMO functions, governance frameworks, and scheduling concepts

Competence with tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and document management systems

Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
