About Us
The Eromanga Natural History Museum (ENHM) is more than just Australia’s newest dinosaur museum—it’s a journey into the ancient past, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Australian Outback. As a not-for-profit organization, we’re dedicated to discovering, preserving, and sharing the incredible natural history of our region—from dinosaurs and megafauna to marine fossils and microfauna.
Located just 3 km from the town of Eromanga in South West Queensland, our museum offers immersive tours, hands-on educational programs, and luxurious 4-star equivalent accommodation. 🦕 Your Role: Museum Interpreter/ All Rounder
We’re looking for a passionate, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as a casual guaranteed hours position. This is a multi-faceted role where no two days are the same—perfect for someone who loves variety, learning, and connecting with people.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Guided Tours – Bring our exhibits to life with engaging storytelling and behind-the-scenes insights.
Customer Service – Welcome guests at the front desk and museum shop with warmth and professionalism.
Housekeeping & Lodge Support – Help maintain clean, comfortable spaces for our guests and staff.
Visitor Assistance – Answer questions and share your knowledge with curiosity and care.
General Operations – Pitch in across departments to keep everything running smoothly.
Safety First – Follow WHS procedures to ensure a safe environment for all.
Training Provided – Receive comprehensive on-the-job training to build your skills and confidence including access to mandatory qualifications (Food Safety, RSA, Blue Card).
🧠What We’re Looking For
Experience (preferred but not essential):
Customer service, tourism, or housekeeping
POS systems and cash handling
Accommodation reservations and cleaning
Public speaking or educational interpretation
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly, professional, and well-presented
Passion for science communication
Detail-oriented and organized
Able to work independently and in a team
Manual driver’s license preferred
