My client is a well-established accounting and advisory firm based in Norwest Business Park. The business has been in operation for over 20 years and have never advertised, but gained all of their clients through referrals and word of mouth.
Inside the office you will find a down-to-earth team of 10 which includes the Partner, several experienced Accountants, two Bookkeepers, an EA, and Operations Manager. They Partner takes a lot of pride in the quality of work produced by his team and is heavily involved in the Hills’ Business Network and their respective events.
They service an extremely broad client base across the SME market (annual client t/o up to $50m) with clients across the trades, professional services, medical, real estate, hospitality industries to name a few. They also work with family groups/investments & SMSFs (all done in house).
They are now looking to appoint an experienced Accountant/Client Manager who can effectively be a 2IC to the Partner. They are looking for someone who is technically competent and has strong experience working with SME and family group clients. This person will be involved in compliance work for their larger client groups, reviewing the work of the team, and assisting with tax planning & advisory work alongside the Partner. They are looking for someone with client facing capabilities, a positive attitude and strong communication skills. Progression is available into a more senior management role if desired.
The firm uses Xero as their practice software, as well as MYOB, QuickBooks, HandiSoft , Excel & BGL 360. One of their existing team members looks after a majority of the firms SMSFs, so whilst SMSF experience is not critical, it is advantageous.
As a firm they provide in house and external training to their staff and offer a flexible work environment - which includes flexible start times & finish times and WFH. They can also provide a car-space on site if the successful candidate prefers to drive to the office.
Key duties of this role include:
Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds & associated working papers
Liaising with clients via phone, email and face-to-face
Providing strategic tax planning and advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax minimization and business efficiency
Preparation of BAS, PAYG, SGC and other necessary ATO documentation
The ideal candidate will possess:
CA/CPA qualification
5 + years work experience in public practice - with experience reviewing the work of others
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine desire to work in a boutique firm and contribute to their growth journey
