We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who enjoys high-quality tax and compliance work, values structure and consistency, and wants to be part of a team that delivers excellent outcomes through strong systems and support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting, thrives on clean delivery and process, and is looking for long-term growth within a firm that values precision and clarity.

The Role – What You’ll Be Doing

Tax & Accounting Compliance

Preparing tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals

Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS, and FBT returns

Supporting year-end tax planning and reconciliations

Applying correct treatments to tax matters (e.g., Div 7A, CGT, trust distributions, acquisitions), with senior support as needed

Managing ATO correspondence and ensuring compliance obligations are met

Communicating clearly around technical and compliance issues

Acting as the first point of contact for a dedicated group of clients, with support from the broader team

Team Contribution & Review

Assisting in the review of work prepared by less experienced team members

Providing technical guidance and structured feedback where appropriate

Helping maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality across compliance jobs

Contributing ideas to improve workflows and processes

Software & Systems

Working with Xero, Karbon, FYI, FuseDocs, and Business Fitness Active Workpapers

Using automation and structured workpapers to ensure accurate, efficient delivery

Following established processes and collaborating closely with the management team

We want you focused on delivering great accounting and tax work. You won’t be expected to:

Manage workflow or deadlines — our management team handles scheduling

Take on administration or paperwork — we have systems and admin support for that

Lead a team — unless that’s part of your career plan

Solve technology issues — you’ll be supported with the right tools and team

Who This Role Suits

An experienced accountant (typically 5+ years in public practice) who enjoys delivering accurate, structured work

Someone confident managing a job from start to finish, with strong attention to detail

Comfortable responding to client queries and supporting their understanding

Confident working with and supporting less experienced staff

Looking for long-term progression in a growing firm without pressure to lead from day one
