The company
CareerMode is proud to be partnering with a private equity backed services group based in Brisbane. This diversified organisation operates across Australia and New Zealand and is actively pursuing strategic acquisition opportunities over the coming years. As the business continues to evolve, they are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Senior Financial Accountant to join their high-performing team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a broad and hands-on role that combines core technical responsibilities with exposure to strategic projects and stakeholder engagement.

The position plays a key role in enhancing financial systems, reporting processes, and internal controls, with a clear pathway for career progression as the business scales.

The role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

Preparing month-end journals, reconciliations, and management reports

Assisting with annual budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes

Supporting payroll processing and regular cash flow reporting

Managing fixed asset registers and lease accounting

Helping to develop and improve internal systems, policies, and reporting tools

Building relationships across finance and operations to drive accuracy and efficiency

About you

Ideally, you are CA/CPA qualified with experience as a Financial Accountant in a commercial organisation or seeking your first move from Audit or Business Services in Public Practice. Strong skills in tax compliance, end-to-end payroll, process improvement, and month-end reporting will be highly valued. You should be a confident communicator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
