About the Role
Nederman is seeking a dedicated team player to join our Melbourne based team as an Accountant.
As an Accountant, you will play an important role in analysing and monitoring costs of production and operations. This position will involve cross-functional collaboration with the finance, factory and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and efficient cost management, supporting the overall profitability and success of the Nederman group.
Other key responsibilities include:
Prepare weekly and monthly reporting to Head Office in Sweden within required timeframes.
Prepare accurate monthly accounting reconciliations within required timeframes
Manage the accounts payable process, including ensuring purchase orders are entered correctly, appropriate approvals are in place, payments are scheduled correctly
Manage the accounts receivable process, including recording, calculating and weekly reporting on aged receivables data to highlight any collection issues and credit block recommendations. Assist with the preparation/issue of monthly statements to customers.
Undertake regular cash flow analysis, including comparing AP/AR ageing summary, tax liabilities highlighting cashflow concerns.
Assist with new customer credit application process.
Manage the payroll process, including ensuring appropriate approval of timesheets, accurate data entry of payroll data, ensure super payments are cleared, respond to any payroll related queries
Compile tax information and data, including PAYG, BAS, Payroll, liaising with company tax agent.
Ensure compliance with the Financial Manual and other applicable accounting frameworks, while also remaining up to date on relevant legislative changes.
Execute timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures.
About You
This is a great opportunity for someone who demonstrates:
Proven experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
Diverse ERM experience beyond MYOB and Xero (essential)
IFS software experience (strong preference, but willing to teach)
Excellent problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights for improvements
High attention to detail
Solid time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
