This hybrid Project Accountant role (3 days in our East Melbourne office, 2 remote) is a significant member of our Finance team.

Job Description

As Project Accountant, you will manage the financial aspects of capital projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting while collaborating with project managers and stakeholders. General ad hoc accounting will be required from time to time.

Drive accurate and timely project accounting, ensuring full compliance with standards and internal policies

Track and report on project budgets, forecasts, and costs - delivering insights that support confident decision-making

Manage a detailed register of projects and contracts, along with key records like funding agreements and acquittals

Collaborate with stakeholders to share critical financial insights and improve project performance

Champion process improvement by streamlining systems, automating workflows, and handling ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

You’re a qualified CA or CPA with 5+ years’ experience in accounting - project accounting experience is a bonus

Known for your strong technical skills and sharp analytical mind, you thrive on solving complex problems

You're a confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels, internal and external

Hands-on and adaptable, you are ready to roll up your sleeves in a fast-growing, start-up style environment

You are driven, dependable, and outcomes-focused - you bring integrity and urgency to everything you do
