Overview:

The Credit Control Officer at MEMOCORP will play a vital role in overseeing rent arrears recovery across a residential and/or commercial portfolio. This position is responsible for monitoring tenant accounts, initiating recovery actions, negotiating payment plans, and supporting legal processes where necessary. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, along with a solid understanding of tenancy legislation and property management operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Rent Arrears Management

· Manage the daily rent arrears recovery process across a residential and/or commercial property portfolio.

· Monitor tenant ledgers and account statuses to identify overdue rental payments and potential risks.

· Develop and implement tailored action plans for the timely recovery of rent arrears, in alignment with tenancy agreements and company policy.

Tenant Communication & Negotiation

· Initiate contact with tenants through calls, emails, and formal correspondence to follow up on outstanding rent and communicate payment obligations.

· Negotiate and establish suitable payment arrangements or repayment plans where necessary.

· Liaise with Property Managers, Tenancy Officers, and Legal teams to address complex arrears cases or disputes.

Dispute Resolution & Investigation

· Investigate discrepancies in accounts and resolve tenant queries related to rent payments.

· Update tenant records and arrears management systems accurately and in real-time.

· Prepare regular reports on arrears status, recovery actions taken, and escalation needs for senior management review.

Reporting & Record Management

· Initiate and manage the legal process for debt recovery where required, including issuance of breach notices, and follow compliance all the time.

· Maintain compliance with relevant tenancy laws, regulations, and internal controls.

· Manage multiple arrears cases simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Team & Administrative Support

· Support the Property Management team with ad hoc administrative and financial duties related to tenancy and rent collections.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial tenancy legislation

Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling

Proficiency in property management software (e.g. Yardi)

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines and be a great culture fit.
