About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Chef to join the team at Uniting AgeWell Strath-Haven. The focus of this role is to provide high quality, nutritious meals and exceptional service to our residents to enhance their daily lives. This includes:

• Planning, ordering and preparing meals in a way that will enhance the resident’s dining experience, in line with all specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
• Ensure a high level of compliance with all food safety guidelines and HACCP procedures

We're looking for a Weekend Chef to join our team, working Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30am - 5:30pm

Experience in aged care or similar settings is preferred. You'll be preparing nutritious meals in a supportive and respectful environment

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

• Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering)
• Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
• Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
