Our venue, Village Glen, is located in Capel Sound, on the Mornington Peninsula. We have two cafes and a number of function spaces. Our Clubhouse Cafe overlooks our 9 hole golf course, and CJ's Cafe is centred in our residents lounge adjoining the Palms Function and Event space. For those wondering where our Clubhouse and CJ's businesses align, it would be best to think of us as operating similarly to a golf club or a private resort.

We are currently seeking a Casual or Part Time Chef to join our Catering Team. The successful candidate will be hands on each day in one of the Cafés or in our function spaces. Ideally you qualified chef with a minimum 5 years experience.The position available can be casual and/or permanent part time.

Permanent Part Time or Casual (Shifts from approx per week)

Again, The positions can be Part time or Casual. At the moment, we are envisioning the following scope of work hours to select shifts from:

Thursday evenings: 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm in the Hub Kitchen (serving the Palms Dining Room)

Saturdays: 9.00 am to 2.30 pm in the Clubhouse Cafe

Alternate Mondays (2 per month) 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm in Hub kitchen (serving the Palms Dining Room)

Other shifts certainly available.

We are flexible as we want to get the right people for the positions.

The positions are a hands-on positions in the Cafés and in the dining room kitchen.

You will be reporting directly to the Café and Events Manager.

What sort of person will you be?

Ideally you are self-motivated with a positive outlook and a strong work ethic. You would possess the ability to lead by example, when working alongside other team members. You are capable of both following and giving clear directions in either a calm or a busy environment. You will be able to develop a strong cooperative culture. You will be an hospitable person with or without hospitality experience.
