About the role

Candia Care & Support is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Port Macquarie, NSW. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independent and fulfilling lives. This is a casual position, offering the flexibility to work around your schedule.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with personal care tasks, such as grooming, bathing, and dressing

Providing support with daily living activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and community engagement

Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events

Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met

Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records

Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement personalised support plans

What we're looking for

Demonstrated experience in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families

A strong commitment to promoting client independence, dignity, and wellbeing

Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of clients

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent

A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
