Scope and Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Human Resources (HR) Compliance Assistant to join our small team. The HR Compliance Assistant will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation, awards and support our employees through the full cycle of their employment.

Location: Moruya, NSW
Reports to: HR Officer
Hours: 21 hours per week SCHADS Award Level 3.1

Responsibilities and Duties
Recruitment and Retention
· Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain employees.
· Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
· Work closely with the HR Officer to create and maintain a positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
Employee Performance Management
· Establish and communicate clear, detailed goals and performance expectations.
· Assist the HR Officer to provide coaching, training, support, time, and resources to assist with employee success.
· Support the HR Officer to monitor and observe employee performance and make recommendations to the Professional Development team where additional training may be required.
Compliance and Policy Development
· Ensure organisational compliance with all relevant state and national employment legislation and Awards.
· Maintain employee compliance - NDISWC, WWCC, car insurance and licences.
· Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
· Communicate updates to employees.
Work Health & Safety (WHS)
· Report and investigate workplace incidents or injuries.
· Promote employee health and wellbeing.
Selection criteria
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, SCHADS Award, and the NDIS.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies and initiatives.
Strong commitment to social justice and inclusion and valuing difference and diversity in the workplace.
Desirable
Previous experience within the disability sector.
Relevant qualifications in HR, Business Administration or a related field.
