About the Role?

The Business Trainee will have the opportunity to undertake ‘on the job’ training and independent study towards completing a Certificate III in Business across 12 months. The successful applicant will develop skills and knowledge that will enable them to undertake the role of an Administration officer or Clinic Receptionist.

Administration officers and Receptionist play important roles in many departments across the MATSICHS, providing customer service and administrative support to assist in the effective daily operations of MATSICHS departments and teams.

In this position your duties will include

  • Assist with general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, and preparing documents.
  • Respond to enquiries professionally via email, phone, or MS Teams.
  • Draft and send standard written communications.
  • Suggest and support process improvements in a team environment.
  • Organising and managing digital files and documents, filing, archiving, and keeping using tools like SharePoint and other systems to manage digital files
  • Assisting with events, booking meetings, and ordering office supplies.
  • Being an active team player by supporting your colleagues and making sure both internal and external stakeholders get great service.
  • Assisting in with other admin tasks as needed.
  • Make full use of computerised data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs
  • Undertake stationary stocktake and process stationary orders.
  • Work in ways which are ethically, culturally and respectfully propa; fostering integrity in our conduct and actions by matching our ways with the values of IUIH and The Ways Statement.

About You?

Essentials:

  • Willing to commitment to undertake studies in Certificate III in Business
  • Current Criminal History Check or willing to obtain
  • Valid Blue Card or willing to obtain
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders and health professionals, while respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple tasks under supervision.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
