The Caseworker Integrated Family Services is responsible for providing the following services: Case management support to vulnerable Aboriginal children, young people and their families; Have a sound knowledge of the complex issues facing families such as drug and alcohol, family violence, mental health, homelessness or at risk of homelessness and cycles of disadvantage and poverty resulting in chronic neglect and cumulative harm; and Undertaking assessments of the children, young people and their family using the Best interest case practice framework, developing child and family action plans, implements and reviews progress towards achieving the agreed plans in an ongoing way.
Travel between all MDAS locations including overnight travel to maximise work schedules may be required from time.

Key Selection Criteria:
• Experience in the case management of complex children, youth and families and knowledge of the Residential Care, Out of Home Care system and Child Protection statutory requirements. Demonstrated ability to advocate for client needs, influencing decisions in client’s best interests.
• Uses knowledge and experience to develop and implement systems to plan and monitor own performance.
• Understanding of therapeutic intervention underpinned by trauma, attachment theory and resilience.
• Communicate, consult, liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people at all levels to achieve broad project objectives and goals.
• Understands underlying needs and issues of stakeholders and negotiates effectively to develop and implement solutions.
• Ability to develop, plan, implement, manage, and evaluate a program.
• Experience in preparing written reports including case notes and reports with statistical data collected from service delivery reporting.
• Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.

Qualification/s:
Relevant qualification at Certificate IV or higher with relevant experience, or experience attained through previous appointments.

Other Screening Requirements:
A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
