Alford is seeking an experienced Saw Operator to join our growing team in Dubbo, NSW.

As a valued member of the Alford machining team, you will be responsible for providing cut material to our machine shop, ensuring on-time workflow continues throughout the production process. You will manage and maintain the steel store and assist other workcenters as needed.

About the role

Cut required metals for cylinder components (using both Everising CNC saw and band saw).

Safely manage the daily movements of the steel store using overhead cranes, and other material handling devices.

Perform basic quality checks on delivered and cut materials.

Additional duties with the Assembly and Test teams as required (on-the-job training is provided).

Accurately and efficiently cut job lots, or one-off pieces, with minimal waste/offcuts.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Overtime hours available from time to time.

About you

A mechanical trade or background is an advantage.

Previous experience in a similar industry would be highly regarded.

Physically fit and able to safely manage heavy loads (using lifting equipment provided).

Forklift licence preferred, however support in obtaining a licence may be offered.

Overhead crane experience (preferred, however training will be provided).

Innovative thinker, in touch with modern technology and practices.

Mature and reliable team member, who can work independently and as a team.

Positive can-do attitude, with an eye for detail.

Ability to prioritise and stay focused.
