About the role
Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a passionate and experienced Plumbing Teacher to join our team on a casual basis. As a Casual Plumbing Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality vocational education and training to our students in the Heidelberg VIC 3084 campus. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to contribute your expertise on an as-needed basis.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and delivering engaging plumbing-related lectures, tutorials, and practical lessons to students
Developing and updating course materials, lesson plans, and assessments to ensure they align with industry standards and educational requirements
Providing support and guidance to students, both in the classroom and through individual consultations
Assessing student work and providing timely and constructive feedback
Collaborating with the wider teaching team to share best practices and continuously improve the quality of the program
Maintaining accurate student records and complying with all relevant policies and procedures
What we're looking for
Relevant trade qualifications in plumbing, with extensive practical experience in the industry
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain) to demonstrate your teaching expertise
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
A passion for vocational education and a commitment to helping students achieve their goals
