About The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Junior Tax Accountant to join the team at SMH Accountants & Advisors in Travancore, Victoria. As a full-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the wider accounting team in delivering high-quality financial services to our diverse client base. This role will report directly into the Principal giving you great mentorship to further grow your accounting career.

What You'll Be Doing:

Preparing and drafting Income Tax Returns , Company & Trust Tax returns.

Liaising with client as well as Australian Taxation Office and ASIC.

Assisting with the preparation of periodic financial reports.

Providing administrative support to the accounting team as required

Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of accounting policies and procedures

What We Are Looking For:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field

1+ years' experience in a junior accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in a professional services environment

Strong proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks and MYOB

Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
