About The Role

Ambition Disability Support Services is seeking experienced and compassionate Female Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team. This casual position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them maintain their independence while enhancing their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and manual handling

Provide support with bowel care and medication administration, in accordance with individual care plans

Support daily living activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation

Engage clients in meaningful social and recreational activities, fostering their wellbeing and community participation

Maintain accurate records of client progress and care provided

Collaborate effectively with the wider care team to ensure clients’ needs are met

Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

What We Are Looking For

Must be able to complete paid travel up to 2 hours one way in a company vehicle.

Must be willing to travel throughout the Riverina to work assignments & stay overnight. Travel and accomodation paid for by the company.

Proven experience in providing personal care, nursing or disability support services

Certification and experience in following safe manual handling techniques

Qualified in providing safe medication administration assistance

Experience with providing subcutaneous injections

Background in supporting individuals with diabetes

Experience/certification in providing assistance with bowel care management

A genuine passion for working with individuals with disabilities, committed to their empowerment and inclusion

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with clients and their families

Comfortable to work with participants who smoke, providing care and support in a respectful and non-judgmental manner

Be available to complete split shifts, night shifts, sleepover shifts, weekends, weekdays, and weeknights, ensuring flexibility in meeting clients’ care needs

Comfortable to provide personal care support to both male and female participants

Maintain accurate and legible progress notes, demonstrating strong English reading and writing skills.

Be able to understand and accurately interpret care documentation, guidelines, and individual care plans

Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability, ensuring responsive care tailored to individual client needs

A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation

A current First Aid certificate and National Police Check
