We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Support Officer to start as soon as possible work within a Federal Government Department. This is an exciting 12 month opportunty based in Mascot to contribute through the Digital Trade Accelerator Program (DTAP). This role is level 5 APS scale
About the Role
You’ll be part of a national virtual team helping to improve Australia’s trade systems by supporting the development and refinement of biosecurity and import risk profiling. You’ll be integral to ensuring more efficient and targeted border interventions that align with the government’s Simplified Trade System (STS) agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the migration of cargo profiles through data entry and spreadsheet management
- Provide secretariat support for recurring stakeholder meetings, including drafting agendas and taking minutes
- Manage the team inbox and archive correspondence using CM9 (Content Manager)
- Assist in monthly project reporting for executive-level decision-making
- Support a range of ad hoc project tasks as required
What We’re Looking For
- Intermediate Excel skills and strong administrative capability
- Understanding of biosecurity regulations and import pathway processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to manage your workload independently while being a strong team player
- Familiarity with border operations and systems (highly desirable)
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to work in Australia and pass required checks
