Located in North Lakes and reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will join an existing estimating team and play an important role in the timely and accurate production of estimates and quotes for both internal and external customers.

About the Role

Joining and working with the national estimating team and working closely with the production and procurement team, your new role includes:

• Preparing accurate and timely estimates and quotes at predetermined margins
• Accurately maintaining estimates and quotes in the company quote register
• Producing timely and accurate pricing and bills of quantity / budgets for all jobs allocated
• Interpreting technical drawings and effective communication with design / drafting personnel
• Researching of materials, liaising with suppliers to negotiate the best terms and understanding and allocating accurate labour time
• Communicating with project managers and other staff as required in relation to quoting
• Assisting with RFQ and tender responses as required
• Filing of quote documents
• Margin analysis as required
• Provision of technical advice for incoming customer enquiries as required.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

At least five years' relevant estimating experience gained within the building or manufacturing industries

• Proficiency in First Principles Estimating
• Ability to read technical/construction drawings
• System administration experience - maintenance of standard BOQs
• Competent and confident user of estimating software
• Highly proficient Microsoft office skills
• Ability to manage workloads effectively and adhere to deadlines
• Highly effective problem solving skills and excellent decision making skills within the authority and scope of the position
• Ability to self manage at a highly productive and effective level
• Confident, professional manner
• Clear and concise communication skills - both written and verbal.
