We have experienced continual growth over the past few years and are currently seeking to appoint another full-time Construction Estimator to join our team.

Key Role Overview –

Creating preliminary high-level budgets for new client queries

Build project specific tenders for presentation to potential clients

Create scope of works from design documentation

Liaising with Site Supervisors to finalise scope of works

Complete full material take-offs for cost estimation and budget management

Liaising with core contractors and Site Supervisors to solve all outstanding RFIs

Update and maintain project specific job folders with current documentation, emails and quotes

Raise contract variations when requested

Create and issue project related purchase orders post-contract

Assist team members and colleagues in an ad hoc capacity where required

Responsibilities –

Tender Proposal Preparation – Create detailed tender proposals, including comprehensive cost analysis, timelines, and project-specific details to present to potential clients

Project Analysis and Compliance – Thoroughly analyse construction plans, specifications, and drawings to gain a deep understanding of project requirements, ensuring all estimates comply with Council requirements and Australian Standards

Purchase Order Coordination – Liaise with site supervisors to ensure all relevant purchase orders are released to trades ahead of scheduled site works

Cost Estimation and Budget Management – Prepare Take-offs and Bills of Quantities – Calculate material, labour, and equipment costs, developing detailed estimates for budget accuracy and feasibility. Financial control by keeping projects within budget constraints across all stages of a project, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the highest quality standards

Obtain and Compare Vendor Quotes – Source, evaluate and negotiate quotes to secure the best value for our projects. Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and ensure the timely availability of materials and resources

Data Analysis and Documentation Management – Collect and analyse construction data, ensuring all project documentation is accurate, compliant, and well-organised to support smooth project execution

Raise Contract Variations as required – Ensure all contract variations are prepared accurately, ensuring all changes are documented clearly, maintaining clear documentation and adhering to project timelines and contractual requirements

Skills and Experience

3+ years of proven experience as an Estimator in high-value residential construction

Strong estimating knowledge across cost planning, procurement, and supplier negotiations

Strong understanding of construction methodology, Australian building standards and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications

High attention to detail with the ability to prepare detailed take-offs and estimates, ensuring accuracy throughout all project stages

Ability to work collaboratively within a tight knit team, and take initiative when required

Ability to multitask while working across numerous jobs at various stages of construction

Excellent verbal and written communication with strong organisational and time management skills

Proficiency in Buildertrend highly valued

Experience with Microsoft 365 essential
