About The Role
Goodwin Aged Care Services is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer to support our Work Health and Safety Manager. This role focuses on managing WorkCover claims, injury management, and supporting employee wellbeing while contributing to a safe and respectful workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Injury Management & Early Intervention: Coordinate injury management processes, liaise with stakeholders for safe return-to-work outcomes, maintain confidential records, and implement early intervention strategies.
- Employee Wellbeing: Promote and coordinate wellbeing initiatives, including Employee Assistance Program utilisation, and contribute to campaigns fostering physical and psychological health.
- WHS Support: Assist with incident reporting, workplace inspections, risk assessments, and WHS committee activities.
- Education & Communication: Support injury management training, awareness campaigns, and preparation of safety reports and resources.
- General: Adhere to Goodwin’s policies, ensure safe work practices, and report hazards or incidents promptly.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Qualifications in Occupational Health, Injury Management, Allied Health, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation and OHS legislation (ACT/NSW) with practical application experience.
- Proven experience in injury management and return-to-work coordination.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with professionalism and empathy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and injury/incident management systems.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in case management for physical/psychological injuries.
- Knowledge of the Aged Care industry.
- Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent.
- Mental Health First Aid training or similar credentials.
- Experience in aged care, healthcare, or complex service delivery environments.
Specialist Skills
- Strong administrative experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and data entry.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain databases.
- Understanding of process models related to Goodwin’s services.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication and rapport-building with employees and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop professional relationships to achieve HSWO service outcomes.
- Strong written communication for reports and correspondence.
Work Health & Safety
- Take reasonable care for personal and others’ health and safety.
- Comply with Goodwin’s WHS policies, report hazards/incidents, and participate in training.
- Promote a safe work environment.
