Are you passionate about community and improving the lives of people in the Pilbara. This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Family and Domestic Violence team in partnership with Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC) - it is a part-time role (0.4FTE or 15.2 hours per week) working from our Karratha office and is a maximum term contract for 2 years.

About the Job

A culturally secure Family and Domestic Violence prevention and early intervention program for Aboriginal parents with children aged 0-5 or expecting parents. This strengths-based initiative provides specialist case management, referrals, information, education and advocacy. Delivered in partnership with Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC), the program ensures community-led, culturally responsive support tailored to the needs of individuals, families and the community.

Position duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Team Leader, Family and Domestic Violence, you will:

  • Supervise, motivate and coach
  • Event management
  • Collaborate and partner with PCLS and RRKAC relevant team members
  • Coordinate and track project tasks
  • Provide human resources functions with the support from People and Culture team
  • Identify training needs for your team members
  • Coordinate resources
  • Data Collection and reporting
  • Meet compliance and safety standards

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Diploma in Social Work (minimum) or related field, and significant and/or experience in the Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or other relevant sector
  • Knowledge of domestic and family violence issues affecting families including those from culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous backgrounds
  • Proven ability to provide casework support
  • Knowledge of issues impacting people who face multiple disadvantages including domestic and family violence, drug and alcohol dependency, mental health concerns, abuse, neglect, homelessness and involvement in the justice system
  • Proven ability to coordinate a project and people
  • Ensure the values of the organisation are upheld and contribute positively to the culture of the organisation
  • Ensure a safe working environment and ensure reasonable self-care and care of others
  • Ability to travel across the Pilbara including overnight stays
