Our Client
Our client is a National and International Award Winning business. They are a leading Audio-Visual and Consumer Electronics distributor, importing and supplying high end AV products to specialist retailers, custom design specialists and integrators across Australia. The Head Office is based in Port Melbourne and distribute some of the world’s leading audio-visual brands.
Due to continued business growth, they are now looking for a full time Store Person and Retail Assistant to join the team in Port Melbourne. Experience in the Audio Visual sector is highly regarded, but not necessary.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Sales and Marketing, the successful candidate will be part of a small, supportive, friendly, and close-knit team. You will play a key role in the day-to-day warehouse and retail operations, and the ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, high levels of accuracy, efficient and good communicator.
Duties and Responsibilities
Store Person Tasks
Unloading and loading goods, sorting and storing inventory, and preparing shipments for dispatch.
Maintaining accurate stock levels, organising the warehouse, and ensuring efficient storage.
Picking, packing, and labelling orders for shipping.
Using equipment like walkie stacker to move goods around the warehouse
Ensure warehouse area are kept clean and organised.
Retail Tasks
• Assisting customers with inquiries, locating products, and handling spare parts and returns.
• Assisting customers with purchases and completing sales transactions.
• Ensuring shelves are stocked, products are displayed attractively, and that stock levels are maintained.
• Maintaining a clean and organized retail environment.
About You
This role will suit someone who is vibrant, confident and has a positive attitude, along with the desire to learn and be proactive.
The ideal candidate will also possess:-
• Some previous experience in dealing with customers in a retail environment.
• Basic computer skills
• Comfortable working in a physical role, including lifting stock up to 30kg.
• Strong attention to detail and able to work efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes.
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
