Founded in WA in 2018, we are a young and dynamic company experiencing phenomenal growth across the country. Our team now includes 150+ staff and independent contractors across WA, QLD, NSW, SA, VIC, and ACT.
Due to our rapid expansion, we are now looking for an experienced Accounts & Payroll Administrator to join our finance team and grow alongside us. With a proven track record in a similar position, you will provide high-level support to our Finance Manager, Assistant Accountants, and extended finance team.
About the Position
This is a full-time, in-house position focused on supporting the payroll function and addressing the ad-hoc accounting needs of our business. The role involves collaboration with various teams, including servicing, installations, sales, and administration, as well as coordination with our offshore accounting support teams.
Specifics of the Role
Support the accounting team in bank reconciliations and accounts receivable by receipting, following up on, and reporting overdue amounts.
Assist accounts payable with data entry, payment processing, and reconciliations.
Assist the accounting team in month-end balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of month-end reports.
Assist in processing fortnightly payroll, adhering to legislative, award, and enterprise agreement guidelines:- including:
- processing of employee / employer deductions, contributions, and reimbursements
- maintain and update employee records
- accurately process the fortnightly commission module for Australia-wide sales commission payments
- coordinate onboarding and offboarding of employees and independent contractors
- enter timesheets and collate shift information
- promptly manage and resolve payroll enquiries
- collaborate with stakeholders to provide guidance and identify process improvement opportunities
- maintain internal and external relationships within your remit, providing timely information and data
- file and organise documentation
About You
We're seeking a driven professional with:
Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping.
Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and Superannuation requirements.
Proficiency in accounting and payroll software systems (i.e., Xero, MYOB or similar).
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
Strong organisational abilities with demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial, and employee information.
