ABOUT THE COMPANY.

This Local Council has recently opened an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Planner to join their team for an immediate start. The successful candidate will work within a high performing and collaborative team to communicate and promote relevant planning policies.

ABOUT THE POSITION.

A 6 month opportunity with potential for extension. Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Assessments, you will be responsible for the development of planning policy, reviewing and updating Council’s planning framework, and the assessment of planning proposals and more.

DUTIES.

• Preparing and writing planning proposals
• Reviewing exhibition submissions and preparing response tables and post-exhibition reports
• Managing consultant engagement, responding to inquiries, and handling RFIs
• Attending internal and external meetings to refine draft DCPs and planning proposals before and after exhibition

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.

• Degree in Urban/Town Planning or related
• Prior Local Government experience is preferred
• Strong foundation of knowledge in relation to planning proposals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
