The City of Wanneroo are establishing a pool of eligible candidates to be considered for part-time, full-time, permanent, and/or fixed-term positions as they become available in our Customer Relations Centre and Front Counter.

  • Full-time (Monday – Friday, 76 hours per fortnight)
  • Part-time (Variable Hours - Monday – Friday, between 8:00am-5:00pm)

About the position
The Customer Relations Centre is the first point of contact for customers at the City of Wanneroo and delivers a wide range of services across a number of contact channels. The City is currently seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual with a passion for customer service to join our team!

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Customer Relations Officer is responsible for the handling of customer enquiries received at first point of contact in a contact centre environment, inclusive of in-person services, and undertaking a vast variety of administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner that meets customer needs. There are also opportunities for front counter roles, providing face to face customer service.

These positions require a high degree of flexibility in maintaining excellent customer service on a daily basis, a demonstrated passion for customer service and the capability to proactively problem-solve, experience in cash handling, and the ability to keep up to date with news & information and communicate with a diverse customer-base.

About you

  • The successful appointee must be able to multi-task to respond to customer needs in a fast and accurate manner. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their resume and cover letter that they meet the following capabilities:
  • Previous customer service experience within a contact centre or in-person service;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Quick learner, able to cope with multi-tasking and rotate between numerous tasks;
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills;
  • The ability to work under pressure while staying calm and motivated in a constantly changing and challenging environment;
  • Previous cash handling experience;
  • Good computer skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, negotiation and conflict resolution skills; and
  • Willing to travel to an external customer service outlet.
