Customer Relations Officer | Casual role

Most of us want to know we’re doing work that matters. But a lot of us struggle to build careers that allow for it, so we end up working long hours in demanding roles.

At Warrigal, you’ll get to swap the hustle for a career with purpose. One that makes a positive difference to the lives of older people and their families.

For us, there’s no greater honour. When we bring joy and quality of life to older people, we give them the dignity, community, and belonging they deserve. We allow them to enjoy better quality time and build lasting memories with their families, and we create a society that celebrates and respects aging.

No matter your role at Warrigal, each one of us is contributing to this legacy, ensuring it’s passed down from generation to generation.

The opportunity

The Customer Relations Officer will play a vital role in supporting our Customer Relations Team through a variety of administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include assisting with contract preparation, managing customer inquiries, and providing occasional support at the front reception. You'll also help with database management and word processing, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both internal and external customers. We’re looking for someone with a friendly, solution-focused attitude who is eager to contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment. Training and guidance will be provided to ensure you succeed in this rewarding role.

This role will require occasional travel to other Warrigal locations, so flexibility and a willingness to move between sites is essential.

The benefits | Recognising your value

  • Hourly rate – $37.06
  • Career break schemes, additional purchased leave and more
  • Commitment to on-going professional and career development
  • Subsidised access to your local gym and 200+ more across the country with a Fitness Passport
  • 24/7 access to mental, physical, social and financial support via the LifeWorks app

The requirements | What it takes to do this work

  • Substantial experience in office administration
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and efficiently
  • A good understanding of office and administrative processes, including data entry tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with others
  • A compassionate approach toward older people and their families
  • Ability to connect and build positive relationships with a diverse range of customers, both internally and externally
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office, with an understanding of computer hardware and basic troubleshooting
  • Capable of working independently while being an active and effective team member
  • Awareness of workplace health and safety (WHS), privacy, and equity principles
  • A valid NSW driver’s license

What our people love about working here:

A focus on purpose over profit: As a not-for-profit organisation, our leaders and board care deeply about the vision. What’s in the best interests of older people always trumps profits. Everything goes back into the business. And everything you do has a meaningful impact in the local community.

A supportive, passionate culture: It’s a community filled with inspiring, big-hearted people. We back each other, listen without judgement and lead with kindness, respect and unwavering support - for our customers, residents and each other. This is encouraged from the top down and worked hard at – every day.

Leaders who value you: It’s important you feel valued. To us, this is not a one-off task. But a commitment to creating an environment where you feel seen, heard and valued – every day. Leaders and managers go out of their way to understand you, respect your opinions and hear what you have to say. This creates greater unity and collaboration with each other.

Time for a life that matters: We want you to feel part of our community, to have a place to belong, while respecting your life outside work. You’ll have the flexibility to fit work around your needs, take career breaks and purchase extra leave to make time for the people, places and life that matters to you.

Who we are | A community who cares

Warrigal has firmly established itself in the aged care community for over 60 years. We’re proud of the diverse range of retirement living and aged care services we’ve built up in that time, but we still have the same appetite to grow and innovate. Meaning, you’ll have the chance to move around, get promoted or explore different areas across our expanding business in Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Queanbeyan, and Canberra – if that’s what you want.

Do work that matters to you

This is your chance to do work that matters, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of Australia’s older community – now and in the future.

JOIN US AND BE THE DIFFERENCE

We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people, workers of all abilities, ages and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to apply and join our community.

Are you keen? Then don’t delay applying. We review applications as we get them and will close the vacancy once we find the right person.

Got questions? You can contact [email protected] but please don’t send applications through email – we can’t accept them.

If successful, you may be asked to do a medical, National Criminal History Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check, and provide references.
