Senior Draftsperson – Renovations & Extensions (160K OTE - Future Lead)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re on the hunt for a Senior Draftsperson who’s a true GUN in residential renovations and extensions — someone who knows the codes inside and out, delivers bulletproof construction drawings, and wants to lead the drafting function in a high-growth, high-performance environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You’ll own the quality and speed of our working drawings, guide project execution with practical documentation, and lay the foundation for a drafting division that runs like clockwork. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce full, construction-ready drawing sets for complex residential renovation and addition projects.

Translate conceptual designs into detailed documentation, with a deep understanding of structural and regulatory constraints.

Drive accuracy and efficiency across:

Site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections

Roof/framing layouts, cabinetry detailing, wet area plans

Construction details tailored to live site conditions

Ensure all drawings meet WA compliance, NCC, R-Codes, and council submission requirements.

Lead workflow optimisation and introduce better systems, tools, and documentation practices.

Mentor junior draftees as the team expands.

Liaise with internal designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure technical integrity across all documentation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

10+ years’ drafting experience in residential construction (extensions & renovations essential)

Expert-level knowledge of WA building codes, NCC, R-Codes, and local planning rules

High-level proficiency in AutoCAD, Archicad, Revit or similar drafting software

Strong detailing capability, especially in alterations and additions (existing-to-new interfaces, structural tie-ins, wall removals, roof transitions)

Leadership mindset: ready to guide others and set up a high-performing drafting system from day one

Tech-forward thinker: excited by the idea of faster, better documentation through smart workflows

PACKAGE & EARNINGS

Base Salary: $110,000–$130,000 + Super

Performance Bonus: Up to $30,000 annually
(Paid quarterly — based on drawing output, quality, speed, and contribution to workflow innovation)

Potential Target Earnings: $160,000 total OTE
