About the Role:

As the Senior Architectural Draftsperson at S2dio-X, you will be required to demonstrate professionalism and effective communication skills, and consistently produces high-quality documentation drawing, ensures compliance with regulations in permit applications.

You will need, but are not limited to, the following duties:

· Conducting site visits to take accurate measurements and dimensions, ensuring precise building layout planning.

· Consulting with clients, builders, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and gather feedback on project feasibility.

· Doing research of related regulations & legislations and ensuring design compliance. Researching building regulations, codes, and local laws, ensuring all designs comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.

· Coordinating architectural drawings with structural, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineers.

· Assisting in applying for building permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with council regulations and statutory requirements.

· Coordinating with builders, engineers, surveyors, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.

· Creating initial design sketches, producing detailed working drawings, and drafting specifications to assist in architectural design and construction processes

· Adjusting architectural schedules, drawings and details to reflect design modifications and compliance with regulations.

· Assisting to prepare architectural documentation packages, including construction drawings, and as-built records to support project phases.

· Generating detailed material schedules (e.g., window/door schedules, finishes schedules) to assist construction and procurement teams.

· Utilising Revit for BIM-based modelling and documentation and employing SketchUp for 3D visualisations to support architectural drafting and design coordination.

What you will need:

· Diploma or higher qualification in architectural drafting, architecture or a related field.

· At least 3 years of professional Architectural Draftsperson experience in producing high-quality documentation drawings in an Australian architectural company.

· At Least 3-5 years of architectural experience in China, with demonstrated ability to interpret and transform Chinese architectural drawings into Australian-compliant construction documentation. Experience in cross-border coordination or adaptation of China–Australia design is highly regarded.

· Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate cross-border design documentation and consultant inputs.

· Strong ability to understand drawings from related consultants and have coordination ability.

· Proficiency in using AutoCad, SketchUp and Revit simultaneously.

· Take initiative and solve problems with a calm, can-do attitude

· Solid understanding of the characteristics, construction details and application scope of building materials.

· High level of enthusiasm and a positive working attitude.
