Senior Finance Officer

12 month fixed term contract (with the potential to extend)– Part time 50 hours per fortnight

Bunbury Harvey Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified Senior Finance Officer.

Responsibilities include:

· Providing leadership and management of the day-to-day operations of the Council’s finances.

· Preparation of financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and monthly and annual financial reporting.

· Following agreed processes to maintain data within the finance system, and ensuring data timeliness,

accuracy and compliance.

· Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and local government regulations.

Selection Criteria

Progress towards or completion of a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and/or substantial experience in a similar role.

Demonstrated knowledge in corporate accounting role(s), Australian Accounting Standards and contemporary accounting practices.

Developed financial and budgetary management skills.

Developed computer application skills including accounting packages and Microsoft Office.

Developed written communication skills (including budget and financial reports).

Experience with Xero or equivalent accounting software package.
