This diversified, highly respected Healthcare business based in the South-eastern suburbs of Melbourne are market leaders in the field and provide a diverse range of essential Health services covering a large geographical area. The multi-site network covers numerous services including emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics, intensive care, oncology, surgery and palliative care. With continued investment into resources in equipment, technology and human capital, this Health network has been experiencing massive growth over the last 5 years.
The role
This is a fantastic opportunity which will enable you to become part of a close knit and high performing Billing team, reporting to the Billing Manager. This permanent full time position has flexible hours with a 50/50 split on work from home + office. On offer is alternating 2 days at home/3 days in office one week, and 3 days at home/2days in office the next week.
The role will be comprised of;
Duties
- Review and correction of patient claims
- Liaising with health funds and 3rd parties regarding unpaid, rejected and short paid claims
- Maintain billing processes in line with company best practice.
- Follow-up of billing processes, and managing of Unbilled claims and Ready to Bill
- Providing clinical documents internally to support claim resubmission
- Identify and address incorrect billings
- Billing of health fund and private doctor claims manually and via email
- Collections follow up for patient accounts
- Identifying and addressing private health fund + patient refunds
- Escalating claims to write off
- Escalating claims for clinical review
- Applying journals
- Perform Aged Trial Balance analysis and other ad hoc duties as required by Management
Skills & experience
The successful candidate will ideally have had Billing experience within the Health sector, with exposure in processing patient Health Fund and 3rd party accounts ideally in an inpatient hospital setting.
Candidates with an exposure to billing in a health setting from working in Medical Admin/Reception are also encouraged to apply.
