Our client, a reputable ASX-listed company, is on the lookout for a Financial Controller. This 4 month temporary contract will manage year end, run the audit and finalise listed compliance requirements. The role is based near Ultimo and offers a WFH split.

As the Financial Controller, you will:

• Manage the end-to-end monthly financial close process, including detailed reviews and commentary
• Perform year end reporting, financial statements and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASX and ASIC reporting standards
• Oversee transaction processing, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments
• Lead the audit process
• Review and sign off on balance sheet accounts and reconciliations for the group, ensuring compliance with AASB standards
• Oversee CAPEX and work-in-progress accounting, ensuring transactions adhere to internal policies and are recorded accurately and timely
• Review month-end analysis and commentaries for the group, delivering insightful balance sheet and cash flow analysis compared to prior periods
• Manage the delivery of the Annual Report, ensuring it is completed accurately and submitted to agreed timelines
• Drive continuous improvements in transaction processing with a focus on innovation, simplification, and automation to enhance process efficiency
• Prepare technical accounting papers and act as a resource for technical accounting queries
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes as required

The ideal candidate will have had experience within ASX listed organisations and:

• CA/CPA qualification with a solid foundation in technical accounting
• Strong, hands on understanding of ASX and ASIC reporting standards and disclosure requirements
• Must be familiar with AASB 9, 15, 16
• Experience managing the audit process and preparing comprehensive internal and external financial reports
• Proven leadership skills, ideally with experience managing a team that includes both onshore and offshore resources.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills
• Demonstrated ability to drive efficiencies, ideally with experience delivering process improvements and automation projects
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
