Financial Accountant

A respected and fast-growing organisation with a strong reputation and excellent leadership team is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance function on a 6-month contract.

This contract position has been designed to support the business during a key period of growth. You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive finance team, reporting directly to a highly experienced and hands-on Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports
• Monitor financial activity, analyse variances, and provide actionable insights
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards
• Take ownership of statutory obligations including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and GST
• Manage bank reconciliations and the general ledger
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
• Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Contribute to improvements in reporting processes and internal controls
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to support strategic decision-making

About You

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with 1–2 years’ post-qualification experience
• Strong financial reporting and compliance experience in a commercial setting
• Must have exposure to IFRS 16 and lease accounting standards - essential
• Technically sound, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Confident communicator, able to engage across finance and non-finance teams
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
