About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Executive Officer to the Chief Executive of the Department for Energy and Mining.
The Executive Officer is responsible for providing high-level executive support to the Chief Executive, assisting them in fulfilling their statutory role, high-level government and cross-agency functions. This includes leading and managing a comprehensive range of high quality, professional, confidential and responsive administrative services. The position also acts as a key point of contact and liaison between the Chief Executive and other key parts of the Department, the Minister's Office and stakeholders, to ensure the timely and efficient flow of communication.

Key Selection Criteria:

Extensive experience in providing confidential executive support to senior management in sensitive and political environments, including the management of travel and a busy diary.
Superior ability to use initiative to identify priorities and achieve quality results amidst competing expectations in a fast paced environment, delivering results with minimal supervision.
Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to consult, liaise, and negotiate at all levels, providing advice and assistance on relevant matters.
Knowledge of public sector administrative policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including the operations of Parliament, Cabinet, and Executive Council.

Remuneration:
ASO6 salary range $98,478 - $104,165 + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
Special Conditions:
This is a contract/term vacancy up to 12 months.
The role will require a flexible approach to working hours including early starts and work outside normal business hours.
This position is classified as a designated position and as such, appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance screening check.
