People Coordinator

  • 12-month Fixed Term Contract with hybrid working flexibility
  • Covering an internal secondment, supporting V/Line's commitment to career growth
  • Pathway into a People Advisory role

V/Line's purpose is to connect Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport. We believe in giving all Victorians opportunities through travel and transport - connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.

V/Line is experiencing significant growth and we're delivering more services, more trains, cheaper fares, and huge projects. With more than 3700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver. You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.

About the role

As a People Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring each employee's journey is a positive experience-from onboarding through to offboarding. You'll be an essential member of our People Assist Team, blending administrative expertise with excellent communication skills to deliver an outstanding employee experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Onboarding Support: Assist with the onboarding process by inputting and managing data across systems with meticulous accuracy.
  • Query Management: Triage and respond to inquiries via phone, email, and internal forms, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Payroll Collaboration: Support payroll administration and work closely with the Payroll team.
  • Compliance Oversight: Maintain compliance by managing employee records across various HR systems.
  • Administrative Excellence: Provide high-quality support for projects, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure employees receive the necessary guidance and support.

This role empowers you to identify and drive service improvement initiatives while contributing to a culture of excellence and teamwork. If you're solutions-focused, excel in organisation, and take pride in delivering top-notch support, we'd love to hear from you!

About you

You enjoy working in a collaborative and process-driven environment where organisation and attention to detail are paramount.

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience: While HR administration experience is a bonus, robust general administration skills and effective time management are highly valued.
  • Organisation: You're highly adept at juggling multiple responsibilities and prioritising tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach is crucial for maintaining data accuracy and managing various systems.
  • Discretion: You handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost care.
  • Team Collaboration: You thrive in a collaborative setting, contributing ideas and working seamlessly with your colleagues.
  • Values Alignment: You demonstrate a commitment to our core values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.

If your skills or experience don't exactly match every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and believe in the potential for growth and development.

This position offers a competitive salary in accordance with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administration Employees Agreement 2023 and will be paid at Clerk C3 $95,33 p.a., plus superannuation and a 17.5% annual leave loading.
