Development Manager | Industrial & Self Storage Projects

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Manager to join a well-established private development group, with a strong pipeline of projects across a broad regional footprint. This role is pivotal in managing the design, authority approvals, and delivery preparation for a series of self-storage and industrial-style developments.

Working alongside a collaborative internal team and a trusted network of consultants, the Development Manager will oversee the coordination of design documentation, value engineering processes, and project budgeting to ensure the creation of high-quality, functional spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with councils, consultants, and stakeholders to progress authority approvals and design deliverables.

Manage and coordinate detailed design and construction documentation with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Collaborate closely with preferred contractors to optimise design efficiency and buildability.

Drive project programming, reporting, and consultant team performance.

Monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising design or quality.

Ensure projects are compliant with all planning, zoning, and building regulations.

Produce clear monthly project reports and contribute to project decision-making at stakeholder meetings.

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Property Development, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience as a Development Manager or Project Manager in industrial or self-storage projects.

Strong technical understanding of construction, design management, and authority approval processes.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.

Proficiency with construction/project management platforms (Procore preferred).

Background in cost planning and design coordination highly regarded.
