Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving high-value property developments from concept to completion? We're seeking a seasoned Development Manager to lead the delivery of new and expanding self storage projects across Australia.
This is your opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic, fast-growing business. With a national development pipeline valued between $40M–$60M annually, your expertise will directly influence the growth and performance of our property portfolio.
What You'll Do
In this end-to-end role, you'll take charge of multiple developments across the country, with project values ranging from $2M to $20M. You’ll work across every stage of the development lifecycle—site acquisition, feasibility, approvals, delivery, and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a national portfolio of development projects from acquisition through to operational handover.
Conduct feasibility analysis and secure internal approvals.
Oversee town planning and regulatory approvals.
Appoint and manage consultant teams across disciplines.
Drive project delivery strategies, ensuring cost, time, and quality targets are met.
Navigate and negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and stakeholder agreements.
Manage project budgets, cost planning, claims and contractor payments.
Lead tender processes and negotiate D&C contracts.
Collaborate closely with Asset and Facilities teams to ensure seamless transitions to operation.
Foster strong relationships with consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
Experience & Qualifications:
10+ years in property or construction, with at least 5 years in Development Management.
Experience in industrial, logistics, or similar sectors highly desirable.
Strong track record in obtaining development approvals and delivering high-value projects.
Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Property, or Urban Planning.
Project Management qualifications (desirable).
Capabilities:
Strong commercial acumen and financial aptitude.
Proven leadership and stakeholder management across diverse internal and external teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a solution-focused mindset.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
