Full Job Description

This presents an excellent opportunity to join a growing builder developer at a secure stage. The director you'll work alongside boasts two decades of experience with both tier 1 builders and developers— a unique chance to learn from a seasoned professional.

Your tasks will involve early design, financial modelling, feasibility studies, DA & engaging with councils and investors to procure developments for high-end class 1 & 2 builds in the Eastern Suburbs & North Shore.

This business has a total of 10 projects and a $150M turnover on their books, with half of their developments being in the design stage and the other half in the construction stage.

Our client is seeking the below…

Development Manager- $140,000 - $150,000 + super
Or
Assistant Development Manager - $120,000 + super

Opportunity

As the company expands, there's potential to join and work alongside a seasoned professional, working on the highest calibre of residential projects in Sydney’s affluent areas.

You'll focus on early design and financial stages, then take on responsibilities for every aspect of the development process. A passion for architecture and experience in delivering high-end residential projects are essential for this position. Those with a design/architectural background will be given preference due to the emphasis on attention to detail. If you have 2-3 years in Project Management with a consultancy, this would also be an ideal opportunity to learn the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Managing costs and contractual matters.
  • Engaging with investors, clients, governing bodies & design consultants
  • Initiating, reviewing, analysing plans, and overseeing contract closures.
  • Effectively communicating with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • using Revit/Archicad to draw up sketches

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture (preferred), Construction Management, Engineering, Property Management/Development, or a similar field.
  • 3 years minimum working in the construction industry, ideally in a Development Manager, Assistant Development Manager, Client-Side Project Manager, or Lead Architect role.
  • Residential experience is a MUST
  • A good attitude, time management skills, and a willingness to learn
  • Financial literacy
  • Full working rights to live and work in Australia
