Senior Financial Accountant - 3 Month Contract

MARS are proudly partnering with a well-established and high performing business that's seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. This is a great opportunity for a qualified accounting professional with commercial experience, to step into a hands-on role during a particularly busy period for the business.

About the Role:
Working closely with the finance team, you'll play a key role in supporting the business during month-end and year-end, while also helping to refine and standardise key financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with a month-end close, including resolution of outstanding issues across the business.
• Support year-end activities, including preparation of statutory returns.
• Process WIP entries and manage tasks related to the fixed asset register.
• Collaborate with offshore teams to review and redevelop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Provide ad hoc accounting support as required to keep the function running smoothly.

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified with minimum 1Y experience in an accounting role (not solely audit).
• Commercial accounting experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Confident in reconciliations, month-end close and statutory returns.
• Strong technical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and improve processes.
• Strong communicator with a collaborative approach.
• Exposure to large ERP systems and strong Excel skills.

To Note:

• Only candidates with minimum 1+ years' commercial experience in an accounting function (not solely audit) will be considered for this role.
• Must be able to commence employment in 2 weeks or less.
• It is an essential requirement to be in the office 5 days a week.
