An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Investment Accountant to join a leading investment manager. This is a 12-month contract role based in Melbourne CBD, offering a competitive salary of $110,000 - $125,000 + super. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management of a portfolio. What you'll do:

As a Senior Investment Accountant, your primary responsibility will be managing the financial aspects of a diverse portfolio. You will be tasked with maintaining accurate accounting records, managing accounts payable functions, completing business activity statements and managing trust distributions. Your role will also involve working closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. This position requires someone who can handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

• Manage all facets of finance obligations.
• Maintain accounting records including reconciliation of all related bank accounts.
• Manage the Accounts Payable function.
• Complete Business Activity Statements.
• Manage periodic trust distributions, including relevant calculations and withholding tax obligations.
• Manage periodic unit pricing for each trust following valuation decisions by the Group's internal valuation committee.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including direct asset managers, in-house legal/tax and the funds management team.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Investment Accountant role will bring a wealth of relevant experience to the table, including at least 3 years in a public practice accounting role. You should have detailed knowledge of accounting and taxation requirements for unit trusts. Experience with Xero would be advantageous, as would CA or CPA qualifications. Your proven ability to deal effectively with a variety of clients and stakeholders will be crucial in delivering successful outcomes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic and a proactive attitude. A high level of attention to detail is also required.
