Randstad are currently working with a public sector client to find a Data and AI Technical Specialist for an initial 2 month contract with likely extension. This is a remote role but the candidate must be based in Queensland, Australia. The preferred location is Sunshine Coast however this is not a requirement.

Contract Length: 2 Months with likely extension
Pay Rate: $950 a day including super

Key Duties:

• Understand, interpret, and implement architectural plans and implementation for future data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions, leveraging Microsoft's suite of products, including the utilization of event streaming, data lake/lakehouse/EDW, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Notebooks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Purview, and API management.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and frameworks, such as Spark, CI/CD, and experience in using Code Management systems and DevOps automation, to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of data engineering solutions.
• Strong technical skills in data engineering, data integration, and data architecture, with experience in data modelling, data warehousing, ETL, and data pipeline development.
• Expertise in SQL and programming languages such as Python or R, with excellent knowledge of one or more data-centric languages/tools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines, ensuring their reliability and availability.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimisation of data processing and data storage systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data engineering solutions.

• Testing-related activities corresponding to Data engineering responsibilities.
