About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a full time Fixed Term VPS-4 Business Analyst with experience in rostering and timesheet systems and processes to work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges, and objectives for the Enterprise Rostering and Timesheets (Rostering) project

The Rostering Project will deliver a large scale, single enterprise wide rostering and timesheet solution for Victoria Police.

The objective of the project is to consolidate Victoria Police's various rostering and timesheet tool sets and processes into a unified solution that will deliver efficiencies and benefits forll Victoria Police employees.

The Rostering project scope includes:

  • Timesheets
  • Integration with existing systems,
  • Complements existing rostering arrangements,
  • Plans, forecasts, and manages shifts and leave,
  • Complies with Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and generates alerts for breaches and
  • Generates timesheets based on the roster.

The Rostering Project is in the Investment, Governance and Assurance Department (IGAD) of Victoria Police.

IGAD is part of the Corporate and Regulatory Services Portfolio and strengthens partnership between Victoria Police investment functions and governance, reporting and assurance functions.

Your duties will include:

  • Identify, document, review, research and analyse business requirements for relevant systems and make recommendations to reduce duplication of effort, and administrative burden, enhance knowledge management and improve organisational performance.
  • Develop and maintain business requirements, manage processes and prepare regular reports for management to assist the evaluation and management of relevant systems.
  • Take a lead role in the configuration, testing and documentation of new functionality and revised practices and the development of training materials.
  • Liaise with and develop good working relationships with potential internal and external sources of relevant information in order to improve the business process and information flow analysis capability.
  • Develop an up-to-date knowledge of issues that may impact on relevant business processes and information flows and maintain an awareness of issues, trends and developments in this area of practice ensuring that developments are brought to the attention of senior management.
  • Determine own priorities, meet strict timelines and effectively balance competing demands, with minimal supervision, working independently or as a member of a team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in business requirements development, management and tracking.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders of various levels, across all business functions with diverse opinions and objectives.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and organisational skills and the capacity to prepare correspondence, reports and briefing papers within a sensitive and confidential environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and communication skills are valued, including a demonstrated ability to liaise with internal and external senior stakeholders on a diverse range of issues.
  • Demonstrated capacity to prioritise work and operate with minimal supervision within a small team environment.
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Region/Department/Command

Further Information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed term for one (1) year from date of commencement position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
