The Role
Our client is seeking a junior to associate level lawyer with experience in employment and safety law. Minimum 2 years PAE. This is an opportunity to work directly with a highly regarded Partner and Special Counsel in workplace relations, providing clients with practical, strategic and commercial advice to ensure compliance with workplace obligations, and to minimise the legal risks associated with workplace issues.
You would represent clients in the Federal Court, the Fair Work Commission and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission on employment and safety matters, including:
- investigating workplace incidents (on and off-site);
- managing ill and injured employees;
- defending or litigating prosecutions commenced by the safety regulators for breaches of legislation;
- managing coronial inquests and workers compensation appeals claims;
- advice and litigation in workplace matters;
- employment and contractor agreements;
- breaches of confidential information; and
- managing unfair dismissals and general protections claims.

About You
The ideal candidate for this Employment Lawyer role will have:
- 2+ years PAE with experience in employment law.
- Shows initiative and able to problem-solve.
- Able to run files confidently and competently.
- Good communication skills both within a team and with clients.
- Excellent file management, organisational skills.
