About the role
The City is part way through a digital transformation initiative to transition all of the City’s core systems to a single integrated solution, TechnologyOne OneCouncil. This will add Property & Rating to the existing OneCouncil systems of Finance, HRP and Supply Chain.
The Business Improvement & Enablement Officer (BIEO) position resides within the Business Solutions team within the Information Services Business Unit. Business Solutions’ emphasis is on working closely with stakeholders to implement effective solutions that capitalise on the existing business applications and platforms. The BIEO works closely with all levels of staff in the City's varied Business Units (BUs) to improve the efficiency of business processes as they are enabled by the City’s business applications.
The position is available on a fixed term full time basis until June 2027. It requires an end-to-end business process outlook, the ability to identify areas for business improvement, a solid understanding of the City’s corporate systems, and the skills to train and support BUs to ensure their effective usage of business applications.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
- Facilitate efficient usage of Swan’s corporate applications.
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in applications particularly as this relates to ensuring effective and efficient business processes.
- Maintain ongoing training plans and proposed strategies/options for systems usage improvement.
- Ensure availability of effective usage, training and resource materials, appropriate to the audience.
- Coordinate and facilitate business process improvement initiatives related to corporate applications.
- Help to embed process changes resulting from digital transformation projects related to corporate applications
- Maintain effective working relationships with management and staff to enhance business excellence outcomes.
- Maintain effective relationships with the team’s business system analysts in the enablement of application systems.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- High level of customer service skills including change management practices
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders including facilitation and presentation skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in information systems or equivalent experience
- Substantial experience with ERP systems
- Specialist knowledge and experience of business and process improvement principles and techniques
- Experience developing training/usage material including on-line courses, and delivering one-on-one and group training
- Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team of professionals
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $91,194.72 to $108,194.90 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
