The Role
The Regional Contract Performance Manager is responsible for the oversight of Industry Partner service delivery against national contracts. You will ensure compliance with and implement the regional response to national Contract Performance and Governance frameworks for Logistics Operations Branch national Contracts.
This role will be required to work closely with the Maintenance, Warehousing & other Directorates of Logistics Operations Branch to execute contract performance reporting and governance to ensure value for the Commonwealth and deliver strategic Contract outcomes. This role may support other logistics contract governance activities as delegated by the National Contract Manager and the Logistics Service Manager.
The position will supervise a small team of approx. six personnel of APS Regional Contract Service Delivery officers, Logistic Services Administrator & RAAF Reservist.

Joint Logistics Unit (North Queensland) is an enthusiastic and professional mix of military and civilian employees who are passionate about supporting soldiers, sailors and aviators across North Queensland.
The unit is dedicated to delivering essential logistics services including warehousing, distribution, equipment maintenance and clothing store support to enable military operations. It does this from modern facilities on Lavarack Barracks in Townsville and a smaller satellite site in Cairns.
Joint Logistics Unit (North Queensland)’s span of responsibility stretches from Rockhampton in the South, to Thursday Island in the North & to MT Isa in the West.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a contract management or logistics professional, providing policy advice in relation to complex work and the ability to contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
They will have experience as leading teams and being accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows. The candidate will have considerable experience in stakeholder engagement including identifying, anticipating and responding to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
Key attributes, knowledge and experience we are looking for:
- A self-motivated, collaborative, and innovative thinker whom can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a similar role, in particular contract management, performance, service delivery or delivery of logistics outcomes.
- Ability to coordinate the workflow of a small team, including monitor work practices, set priorities within the work area, develop processes and champion improvement opportunities.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative matters.
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritise a changing workload and negotiate an outcome.
- Good Data Analytical skills, including the ability to monitor trends and report risks effecting Defence capability and/or Contract outcomes.
