About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Manager, Finance & Operations to oversee all financial and operational aspects from human resources to finance and data within our newly formed organisation at Swinburne Student Association at Swinburne University.

This role offers the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, improve systems and processes, and contribute to key financial operations at a senior level.

You'll lead and mentor four direct reports to help produce high-quality outcomes with a strong sense of urgency and achievement, resilience under pressure, and the ability to drive change.

The incumbent will regularly be required to work at all Melbourne campuses (Hawthorn, Croydon and Wantirna) but will be primarily based at the Hawthorn Campus.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

Experience: 3 to 5 years in accounting, finance or an operations role.

Tools and Systems: Proficiency with workplace tools including Asana, Employment Hero, Salesforce and Xero with the ability to leverage these systems for efficient operations, reporting, and team collaboration

Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. This role is supported by a skilled and dedicated team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce

Membership of Professional Accounting Association (CA/CPA) preferred.

About Swinburne Student Association

Swinburne Student Association (SSA) is a newly formed student association tasked with overseeing the provision of a range of services to students at Swinburne University of Technology. These services include Clubs and Sports, a range of leadership and student wellbeing initiatives, Advocacy and our Events and Experience Program across Swinburne’s campuses.

The SSA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of three Swinburne appointees and six elected Student Directors, supported by a workforce of 25 staff who are dedicated to delivering a world-class student experience at Swinburne.
