About the role:

We are looking for a full-time cook with experience to work in our café/Restaurant. This is a full-time role with approximately 38 hours per week. You will have great work-life balance and working with good team.

The proposed new menu is going to be fused cuisine so knowledge in multiple cuisine is a big plus.

Responsibilities:

- Preparing and cooking varieties of food, adhering to the recipes and meeting dietary requirements where required.

- Following recipes and maintaining consistency of food with good presentation.

- Adhering to OH&S and HACCP guidelines and having good knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations.

- Ensuring all food is handled hygienically and all equipment and kitchen surfaces are cleaned and in an appropriate condition to be used for hygienic food preparation.

- Ensuring health and safety standards and COVID safety standards are met.

- Stock control and ordering.

- Adding Spices and Herbs to Season Food

- Carrying out regular temperature checks of warm and cold display units of all types.

- Recording wastage & minimisation of waste with proper kitchen practices.

- Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen and correct use of chemicals.

- Well-groomed/presented with strong work ethics with professional attitude.

- Comfortable to work in any section or willing to learn.

- be a team player or work unsupervised if required and able to handle pressure hours.

- Preserve and store food prepared or delivered in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities such as cool room or freezer.

- Train apprentices and other kitchen staff if required

Skills & Experience:

- Trade certificate in commercial cookery desirable

- Minimum of 4 years’ of cooking experience in multiple cuisine

Salary: $72,000-78,000 plus super (depending on experience)
