Precinct Espresso is a trendy cafe restaurant located in the hub of Sydney, offering an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, reflecting the pinnacle of dining in the CBD. We offer dine in table service, fancy office lunches and also a variety of catering for work functions as well as birthday celebrations.

Our cafe restaurant is currently looking for a full time cook to perform the following roles and duties:

prepare food in order to meet special dietary requirements

prepare, season and cook food in a dining and catering establishment

store food in temperature-controlled facilities

examine foodstuffs to ensure quality is maintained

portion food, placing it on plates and responsible for adding sauces, gravies and garnishes

regulate temperatures of cooking equipment such as grills, ovens and other cooking equipment

prepare and cook the food

plan menus and estimate food requirements

train apprentices and other kitchen staff as required

responsible for seasoning food during cooking

responsible for the production and have knowledge and competency of cooking high quality food

ensure that all food is creatively and attractively presented at all times

order and receive raw ingredients and dry goods

maintain cleanliness and organisation of cooking station

maintain daily production records

complete opening and closing duties efficiently and safely, using the correct procedures

What you will need to succeed:

1. at least one year of experience working in a commercial kitchen

a commercial/kitchen management qualification is preferable

good communication and teamwork skills

it is preferable if you are a permanent resident or citizen of Australia when applying

Essential skills:

excellent hygiene and OH&S practices

excellent knowledge of seafood and meat dishes

time management

ability to work under pressure

presentation and preparation
