Senior Accountant required for an iconic Australian brand

Your new role

A rare and exciting opportunity has opened up in their Head Office for a senior accountant. Working closely with the Head of Corporate Finance, you will manage the production of year-end general purpose financial statements, support tax effect work at group level and produce month-end management accounts, including variances to budgets. Specific duties include:

• Statutory cashflow, segment reporting and AASB15 / 16 disclosures
  
• Fixed assets' maintenance, additions / disposals/ depreciation
  
• Balance sheet reconciliation's including variance and trend analysis
  
• Month-end and year-end close (general purpose financial statements for the Group)
  
• Tax effect work at group and sub-entity levels
  
• Business partnering with brands, variances to budget and identifying trends and analysis of marketing spend
  
• Process improvement projects
  
• Provide support to the external auditors
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Ideally a Chartered Accountant (CA) with a background in either audit or tax:
  
• Experienced working for a complex sizeable company ideally within a retail, hospitality of similar
  
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts
  
• Outstanding communication skills and confident liaising with internal stakeholders
  
• Ability to understand and manipulate data using your strong excel skills
  
• A working knowledge of working with large ERPs such as SAP or Oracle
  
• A glass half-full, proactive, inquisitive nature
